Stow Stories to Tinkler’s Quest

Stow Stories to Tinkler’s Quest (SSTQ)

Stow Stories was first inspired in 2018 following a campaign to prevent two speculative building proposals on a small field in Stowmarket historically called Tinkler’s Meadow.

Stow Stories – Tinkler’s Quest is a community engagement project which promotes an ethos of caring about our environment wherever we live. Through funding we have established the Stowmarket Tinkler’s Quest Art Trail across nine town venues, which celebrates known and unfamiliar town events, places, people and nature with connections to the wider world. Paintings have layers of magical images to trigger memories, spark conversation and inspire people of all ages to connect to and protect nature.

Follow the links to view and enjoy these storytelling paintings on foot or online.

2025 – into the future – Stow Stories

Tinkler’s Quest journey will continue to promote new stories, ideas and resources which nurture the wellbeing of place, people and nature across river, land, sea and sand. The love of nature – it’s beauty, wildness, healing power and loss inspire sharing Stow Stories and Tinkler’s Quests knowing that through small or large steps of community action we can all help make the world wilder again. Together we can combat climate change through words, creativity and local action wherever we live.

All proceeds from Stow Stories – Tinkler’s Quest art trail initiates are donated to Nurture Together Collective based at Red Gables

This collective formed on 31 March 2021 to inspire others to support Stowmarket to become a greener town, encourage people to connect to green spaces to benefit their wellbeing and to protect, restore and enhance the natural world.
