The Stowmarket Food and Drink Festival held yet another successful event with over 70 stalls, attracting thousands to view food stalls throughout the town centre. Live music organised by the John Peel centre was also provided in the Market Place, which gave us the true festival feeling of enjoying good food and listening to music whilst soaking up the sun. The Food Museum which held a popular Festival of Beer and Brewing, also entertained families with several children’s activities and even showcased a Kitchen Theatre for those wanting to learn new culinary skills.
Extending from The Food Museum to Red Gables, families gathered to visit Our Animal World to explore and learn about reptiles in their mobile unit, as well as hosting a number of interactive charity stalls such as tombolas, raffles and sales. A massive thankyou to Communities Together East Anglia for running a cafe in the Redwoods building, where sweet and savoury refreshments were available alongside extravagant cakes which were donated by the local caterer Cake-a-holic, we would also like to thank Girl Guides who also held a BBQ.
The local businesses located throughout the town centre heavily benefitted from the steady footfall, with many people visiting up until the event finished at 4pm.
